This is a garden on a steeply sloping site with the house set in almost a whole floor below street level.
The house had no defined access to the front and the front slope was shored with some old fashioned timber retaining edges.
We created a curved access to the front door and resolved the slope with rectilinear tiered beds that are planted with lush and sharp plantings. The front garden with a letterbox to establish the entry point has enlivened the front and when viewed from the upper level is a very fresh outlook.
