The return of the Rivendell Flower Show saw us present another display garden using the Southern Cross as a guiding form.
The garden named ‘The Compass’, celebrated the recent naming of the smallest of the five stars Ginan- an aboriginal name representing ‘a red dilly bag with special songs of knowledge’. This took the form of a totem while big sandstone blocks were the 4 stars.
The plant choices made here are those adapted to dry Australian conditions, evocative of the hardy spirit of travellers and seekers.
